December 2002
Dear friends,
What a precious time Christmas is for anyone who belongs to Jesus. May your focus for Christmas be on him, who was born, died for our sins and rose again to give us new life.
All at Kondanani wish you a time of great joy.
The new year 2003 is just around the corner, we wish you a very happy new year.
It is quite warm in Malawi at this time of the year and I don't think, having been bought up in Europe, that I will ever get used to having Christmas in the heat. But I would not want to be any where else, this is where I belong and where my heart is, lost forever to Malawi and it's orphans and widows.
It has been a great year for us, we have seen the power of god at work, we have experienced his faithfulness, He has truly been a father to the orphans and widows.
Our Christmas parties are behind us, we have had such joy and fun. The little ones are still too small to really understand but I think next year it will be
different they will have grown bigger and have more understanding.
The party with the widows was such a great joy, they have heard the gospel and Christmas is becoming so real to them. We had lots of presents for the Golden Oldies, people gave so much and we rejoiced greatly as we saw
them going home with big smiles on their faces.
The staff where blessed, in fact I was so blessed too, I soooooooooooo badly wanted them to have a double salary for all their hard work and at first it seemed we where not going to make it, I talked a lot to my heavenly father about that and he provided at the last minute, what a joy to see their shinning faces after I handed them their envelope with money.
Many of you have been responsible for what we have achieved in the passed year, you have contributed materially and financially, please be aware that we are so grateful and want to say "thank you so much".
The other day when the little ones where running around here at the village I saw one of the girls with a dress too warm for that time of the day, I went and got her a brand new dress out of the cupboard, she looked like a little princess and walk around like one. It hit me all of a sudden that in the midst of poverty in this land our children have never known what that is, all the needs have been met and they are such beautiful bundles of
joy, always looking neat.
Because of you help we have balanced and happy children.
We sent you our love and ask you to continue supporting us in the coming year.
Yours in his service
Lewis and Annie Chikhwaza.
